Michael Mirasol was (is?) a Filipino independent film critic and blogger who has been writing about film for God knows how long. He briefly served as film critic for the Manila Times and now contributes occasionally to several online publications such as the ACMI BlogFandorIndieWire’s PressPlayThe Spectator Arts Blog, and Uno Magazine. In 2010, he was named as one of Roger Ebert’s Far Flung Correspondents, and once upon a time, served occasionally as a panellist at Roger Ebert’s film festival, Ebertfest. He has also contributed to World Film Locations New York, a film photography book by Scott Jordan Harris.

In his day job, Michael has been a programmer, a technical consultant and a data analyst, but he’ll spare you the details. He currently can’t help but go climbing more indoors than out, now that it is a calling that rivals his love for film. His family and friends come first, but that goes without saying.
